I work as a full-time tutor, delivering training in Maths, low-level ICT (GCSE and the like) as well as more advanced ICT, such as the CompTIA A+. In my spare time, when I am not stuffing myself full of beef jerky or listening to planetrock.com, I tend to sit in front of a computer, either learning new things, designing graphics and websites or simply browsing through Wikipedia without an aim or reason.
Sometimes, when I am in a particularly playful mood I visit various forums and post stupid, uneducated opinions.
Majority of what I know about IT is self-taught however I hold various qualifications from different providers such as the British Computer Society (BCS), City & Guilds or The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) to name the most prominent ones.
I am qualified troubleshoot and maintain computer hardware, software and to address various operating system issues (mainly Microsoft systems). I also have a good understaning of wireless and wired networking (currently working towards a networking technician qualification). Apart from that, I am an expert in Microsoft Office having delivered training in this subject for approximately 5 years. My other skill areas include computer optimization and security, printer troubleshooting, HTML, CSS, Flash, graphic design, e-commerce solutions, basic search engine optimization.
I am qualified to teach in the adult education sector (currently working at an engineering college) and have 5 years of experience teaching various topics, such as Maths, ICT, English, webdesign, animation, graphic design, business, accounting. I work mostly with teenagers and young adults however am comfortable working with more mature learners as well,
In general, this makes me more qualified than 90% of freelancers out there. Yarrr.
